Blue lighting – police institutions
On 7 March 2026, the International Day of Remembrance for Fallen Officers, iconic structures and landmarks across the world were illuminated in INTERPOL blue in a unified tribute to those who gave their lives in the service of peace and justice.
The lighting of these landmarks marked a solemn act of recognition, timed to follow the passage of daylight and connect distant communities in shared remembrance.
The initiative was led by INTERPOL’s member countries and provided a visual testament to the universal nature of police service.
These illuminated landmarks, though diverse in form and history, stood together as symbols of a common duty: to protect, to serve, and to uphold the rule of law.
