Case name: The woman in the shed
Case code: 2024-ES05
The case
On the afternoon of Saturday, 4 August 2018, a woman was found hanging in a poultry shed attached to a farmhouse located in the Olivars neighbourhood of Sant Julià de Ramis, in the province of Gerona, Spain.
The woman was not carrying identity papers and the three people living in the farmhouse reported that they did not know the woman and had never seen her before. No vehicle was found in the vicinity, and no one in the area came forward to identify her. The only distinguishing feature was a tattoo on her left forearm of the word "success" in Hebrew.
Despite extensive investigations by local police, the woman was not identified and the case was submitted to INTERPOL's Identify Me campaign in 2024.
The identification
In 2025, ‘The woman in the shed’ was identified as 33-year-old Ainoha Izaga Ibieta Lima. The development came via the Identify Me campaign when Paraguayan authorities matched fingerprints uploaded by Spain to INTERPOL’s Black Notice against their own national databases.
