I-CORE is a long-term programme to transform the technology used in international policing. Significant and ongoing investment is required to make sure that police around the world can access the best possible criminal data – faster, smarter, everywhere – and close down gaps in global security.
The success of the programme depends on the financial support of our partners. We are pleased to recognize the following contribution that will help bring us closer to our mission of making the world a safer place.
We are grateful to the Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany (Bundeskriminalamt), and the German Ministry of Interior (Bundesministerium des Innern, für Bau und Heimat) as the founding partners of I-CORE, for their contribution of EUR 5 million over three years.
This donation was formally presented to INTERPOL Secretary General Jürgen Stock by Dr Günter Krings, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of the Interior, and Michael Kretschmer, Vice President of the BKA, at a meeting held in Berlin on 1 July 2020.
In September 2021 the Netherlands Police (Politie) announced a financial contribution of EUR 1.2 million to support I-CORE’s Smart Case Messaging, a web-based platform that applies artificial intelligence to help make police information exchange more effective.
The funding agreement was signed by INTERPOL Secretary General Jürgen Stock and Jannine Van den Berg, Chief of the Central Unit of the Netherlands Police.
