13th IP Crime Conference 2019

Experts from countries worldwide gathered at the 13th International Law Enforcement IP Crime Conference in Cape Town, South Africa (22-23 October 2019).

The event was co-hosted by INTERPOL and the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, South African Police Service, in partnership with UL (Underwriters Laboratories) and the International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition.

The conference was preceded by two workshops:

  • Workshop on training and technology in Africa which shaped a practical roadmap for collaboration, to ensure that law enforcement officers dealing with IP crime on the frontlines and in remote locations would be able to access relevant training.
  • Workshop on cryptocurrencies which outlined how cryptocurrencies have grown in popularity and are increasingly attractive to criminals who look to operate anonymously.
