2025 Theme: ICT and AI in policing

The third UN International Day of Police Cooperation highlights innovation in law enforcement

Today, organized crime groups are engaged in poly-criminality at the global level, with human trafficking, drug smuggling and environmental crime generating billions in illicit profits.

Cybercriminals exploit the anonymity of the Internet, targeting victims around the world in large-scale attacks, ranging from ransomware to identity theft.

New threats, including deepfake impersonation, online grooming and AI-enhanced fraud, are increasingly commonplace.

The theme of this year’s International Day of Police Cooperation (September 7), “ICT and AI in policing”, is a reminder of the constantly changing threats that law enforcement faces.

Every day, police around the world work together across borders, sharing information, tracking criminals and protecting their communities from threats that no single country can face alone.

As a global police organization, INTERPOL helps its 196 member countries to join these investigative dots and close the gaps criminals try to exploit.

INTERPOL’s work is not just about law enforcement—it is about protecting families, economies and societies, making international police cooperation more vital than ever, to build a safer world.
