Our analysis reports

Our reports can support an investigation or be strategic assessments of a crime threat.

Operational analysis reports

Operational analysis aims to achieve a specific law enforcement outcome such as an arrest, a seizure, the forfeiture of assets or criminal proceeds, and/or the disruption of a criminal enterprise.  Specifically, this research aims to identify:

  • links between suspects;
  • the specific role a person(s) of interest plays in criminal activities;
  • investigative leads, and
  • information gaps.

These products include database crosscheck reports, crime-specific alerts, suspect reports, investigative lead reports, media content notifications (e.g. social media), and the outcomes of operations that we coordinate.

The analysis of data from seized mobile phones and laptops helped identify links between criminal networks dealing in the illegal trade of chimpanzees between Africa and Asia.

Strategic analysis reports

Strategic intelligence analysis provides a broad assessment of a specific crime threat or trend, or of criminal behaviour in a particular environment.  We examine the different factors that impact a type of crime with a view to forecasting how it may evolve in the near to mid-term future (i.e. escalate or deescalate.)

These intelligence products are intended for both police on the ground and their hierarchies.  They include threat and risk assessments (for a specific region, crime, or event), crime trend reports, environmental scanning reports, and early warning alerts.
