KIGALI, Rwanda – Delegates at the 84th INTERPOL General Assembly meeting in Kigali have elected two new vice-presidents and five new delegates to the Organization’s Executive Committee, replacing members whose mandates were ending. The new members of the Committee are as follows:
Todd Shean, Assistant Commissioner of Federal Policing Special Services, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, is the new Vice-President for the Americas.
Kim Jong Yang, Commissioner of the Gyeonggi Provincial Police Authority in Korea, was elected as Vice-President for Asia.
The Head of INTERPOL’s National Central Bureau (NCB) in South Africa, Anbuen Naidoo, was elected as Delegate for Africa.
Jolene Lauria, Deputy Assistant Attorney General and Controller for the US Department of Justice, is the newest Delegate for the Americas.
Two Delegates for Asia were elected: Duan Daqi, Deputy Head of NCB Beijing and Deputy Director General of the International Cooperation Department of the Chinese Ministry of Public Security; and Anselm Lopez, Singapore Assistant Commissioner of Police and Director of the Strategic Relations Directorate, Ministry of Home Affairs.
Commissioner General of the Belgian Federal Police, Catherine De Bolle, is the new Delegate for Europe.
The Executive Committee meets three times a year and sets organizational policy and direction. It comprises a total of 13 members; the President, three vice presidents and nine delegates representing the Organization’s four regions – Africa, the Americas, Asia and Europe. Members are generally elected for a three-year mandate.
