Police remembrance ceremonies

On 7 March 2026, the International Day of Remembrance for Fallen Officers, countries around the world observed acts of tribute – moments of silence, lowered flags, wreaths laid at memorials, and the reading of names of those lost in the line of duty.

These ceremonies, held in police stations, public squares, and places of solemn gathering, reflected the dignity and gravity of loss, rooted in local tradition, united in global purpose.

In homes and communities, families, colleagues, and citizens came together to honour those who served.

The day’s observances are a reminder that while policing is carried out in countless local contexts, its highest calling – sacrifice in service of the public good – is a bond that unites all who wear the badge.
