Across the globe, law enforcement agencies in our member countries tell us the same thing: cybercrime is one of the top threats they face today.

And it’s no wonder. Criminals are more agile, more connected, and more ruthless than ever before. They hide behind screens. They steal identities. They hold hospitals, schools, and businesses hostage.

With the rapid spread of new digital technologies — including Artificial Intelligence — even more crimes are moving online: from grooming and fraud to sextortion and human trafficking.

But here’s the truth: as with every crime, it is police officers who stand on the front lines. And if we want them to succeed, we need to give them the tools, the training, and the support to take this fight into the digital age.

That’s what this edition of INTERPOL Spotlight is all about.

You’ll see how we’re building capacity to fight cybercrime across Africa. How we’re supporting law enforcement in transnational operations. Why we partner with private sector cyber experts. And, how we’re harnessing AI to confront AI-driven crime.

At its core, INTERPOL exists to connect law enforcement in 196 countries. To join the dots criminals hope will stay hidden. To make sure no officer, no community, no nation ever stands alone in this fight.

And as cybercrime continues to cross every border, our mission has never been more urgent — or more important.
