Samoa becomes INTERPOL's 188th member country

Samoa today became the 188th member country of INTERPOL as delegates voted unanimously to accept its application. Representing the Samoa Police Service, Lautimuia Afoa Uelese Vaai told the General Assembly that Samoa recognized the importance of transnational crime to law enforcement, and said that membership of INTERPOL would enhance police capacity to fight all forms of crime, not just across the Pacific but worldwide.
