Nina Vajić appointed Chairperson of the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files

LYON, France – Ms Nina Vajić a professor of Human Rights Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, Croatia, has been appointed Chairperson of the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files (CCF).

Professor Vajić, a former judge at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, took up the position on 2 September, 2014.

The CCF, an independent monitoring body, is responsible for checking that the information stored by the INTERPOL General Secretariat is obtained, processed and kept in accordance with the Organization’s rules and regulations.

The CCF also processes requests for access to INTERPOL’s files and provides advice to the Organization in relation to any operations or projects concerning the processing of personal information.
