Media invitation for 87th INTERPOL General Assembly in the United Arab Emirates

LYON, France – Chiefs of police and security experts from around the world will gather at the 87th INTERPOL General Assembly in Dubai, United Arab Emirates to address a range of global security issues.

Fostering innovation in law enforcement and police connectivity will be key topics, in addition to cooperation in combating terrorism, organized crime and cybercrime during the four-day (18 – 21 November) conference.

On the final day, the General Assembly will elect a new President for the remaining two years of the current mandate (until 2020).

The official opening ceremony and speeches by senior UAE and INTERPOL officials will take place at 10am on Sunday 18 November and are open to the media. This will be immediately followed by a press conference.

Although the main conference proceedings are closed to the media, interviews with police officials and international delegates may also be arranged upon request.

The closing ceremony at 12.15pm on Wednesday 21 November will also be open to the media.

Journalists wishing to attend should apply for accreditation no later than Thursday 8 November and send their completed application form to session 87@dubaipolice.gov.ae
 
Please note that journalists requiring a visa will have to apply for this through the usual channels.

Journalists without accreditation will not be granted access. All accredited media representatives will be expected to present their press credentials and national identification documents at the media registration desk upon arrival.
