Media invitation for 23rd INTERPOL African Regional Conference in Congo

LYON, France – Senior law enforcement officials from across Africa will gather in Brazzaville, Congo, from 8–10 February 2016 for the 23rd INTERPOL African Regional Conference.

The conference will focus on a range of transnational crime issues, including:

• terrorism
• drug trafficking
• people smuggling
• cybercrime
• cooperation between INTERPOL and regional police bodies

The opening ceremony and speeches of high-ranking officials from Congo and INTERPOL on the morning of Monday 8 February will be open to the media.

A press conference will be held immediately following the opening ceremony, in which senior Congolese and INTERPOL officials will participate.

While the remainder of the conference will be closed to the media, there will be opportunities for interviews with specialist officers from INTERPOL.

Information on the conference will be made available on the INTERPOL website, in addition to photos and opening speeches.
