Media invitation 22nd INTERPOL African Regional Conference in Algeria

LYON, France – Senior law enforcement officials from throughout Africa will gather in Oran, Algeria, from 10 – 12 September 2013 for the 22nd INTERPOL African Regional Conference.

In addition to updates on law enforcement capacity building initiatives in the African region, the conference will focus on a range of international crime issues, including:

  • drug trafficking
  • maritime piracy
  • terrorism          

The opening ceremony and speeches by INTERPOL President Mireille Ballestrazzi and high-ranking Algerian officials will be open to the media on the morning of Tuesday 10 September.

A press conference will be held immediately after the opening ceremony, in which senior INTERPOL and Algerian officials will participate, including INTERPOL Secretary General Ronald K. Noble and President Ballestrazzi.

While the rest of the conference will be closed to the media, there will be opportunities for interviews with specialist officers from INTERPOL. Press releases will be made available on the INTERPOL website in addition to opening speeches.
