LYON, France – A man wanted in connection with the murder of a British woman in May 2010 has been arrested in Spain following an international investigation involving Spanish, UK and French police and INTERPOL’s Fugitive Investigative Support unit at its General Secretariat headquarters in Lyon.

David Baxendale was taken into custody in Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol in the early hours of Monday 21 June after close co-operation and information sharing between specialist fugitive investigation officers throughout Europe.

The 39-year-old man is suspected of killing a 38-year-old woman at her home in Surrey in southern England. He will remain in custody pending extradition back to the UK.
