Ten Years of Combating Pharmaceutical Crime: Review and prospects

19-20 November 2014, Dublin, Ireland

Over the past 10 years, we have seen increased efforts among partners at the international, regional and national levels to combat pharmaceutical crime. The ultimate aim is to protect public health and ensure the safety of the supply systems for pharmaceutical and medical products.

Within this context of heightened cooperation, INTERPOL organized a global conference to gather all interested partners together. This event offered an opportunity to review the progress made over the last 10 years and set the path for future activities.

The objectives of this two-day conference were to:

  • discuss experiences, lessons learned, opportunities and constraints of international action aimed at combating pharmaceutical crime;
  • recommend ways forward for strengthening international collaboration in this area.

The conference was hosted by the Health Products Regulatory Authority and the An Garda Síochána.
