INTERPOL Environmental Compliance and Enforcement
4 - 8 November 2013, Nairobi, Kenya
This newly structured committee seeks engagement from executive leaders for environmental compliance and enforcement and works as a permanent INTERPOL environmental executive level steering committee. The meetings considered a range of current and emerging threats being experienced around the world with regard to the environment, biodiversity and natural resources.
The ECEC Meeting and the meetings of the working groups were restricted to governmental and intergovernmental representatives. Representatives of non-governmental organizations and the private sector were invited to join the Conference on 6 November and as observers to various sessions of the working group meetings on 4 and 5 November, as well as the opening session of the 1st Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Committee Meeting on the morning of 7 November.
