INTERPOL Chief discusses security with Turkish Interior Minister

ANKARA, Turkey - INTERPOL Secretary General Jürgen Stock met with Turkey’s Minister of the Interior Süleyman Soylu to identify areas for increased cooperation in combating terrorism.

With Turkey a transit hub for returning foreign terrorist fighters, the INTERPOL Chief underlined the world police body’s ongoing commitment to the country’s efforts to address this national and global security threat.

During his mission on 21 June, Secretary General Stock also held discussions with Kaan Esener Deputy Secretary for General Political Affairs and Ahmet Başaran, Deputy General Director at the Ministry of Justice in addition to meeting with staff at the INTERPOL National Central Bureau in Ankara.
