Law enforcement services in Vietnam are provided by the General Police Department for Crime Prevention and Suppression, which is part of the Ministry of Security.

Part of the General Police Department for Crime Prevention and Suppression, the INTERPOL National Central Bureau for Vietnam is the exclusive law enforcement platform for national investigations requiring cooperation from INTERPOL member countries.

INTERPOL Hanoi is made up of four departments:

  • Staff Administration Division;
  • Transnational Crime Division;
  • INTERPOL, ASEAN, ASEANAPOL Cooperation Division;
  • Transnational Crime Information and Database Centre.

INTERPOL Hanoi works with domestic and international partners in developing events and programmes aimed at boosting Vietnam’s ability to identify and prevent transnational crime. It provides intelligence support to domestic law enforcement units when investigations require global outreach.

The NCB coordinates the arrest and extradition of fugitives located in Vietnam, and of Vietnamese fugitives located in INTERPOL member countries.
