  • Prevent, detect and investigate crime;
  • Maintain public order;
  • Create a safe and secure environment.

The INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) for Mozambique is part of the MRP’s Criminal Investigation Department. It provides operational support in a wide range of specialized crime areas, including:

  • Drugs;
  • Fugitives;
  • Illegal firearms trafficking;
  • Illegal immigration;
  • Motor vehicle theft;
  • Property crime;
  • Stock theft;
  • Trafficking in human beings.

INTERPOL Maputo carries out regular operations with neighbouring countries to counter motor vehicle theft and trace missing people and fugitives. The NCB works regularly with countries in the region but also across the world in facilitating police cooperation and helping to bring any investigation involving Mozambique or Mozambicans to successful fruition.
