Activities

INTERPOL carries out a variety of activities to support our member countries in the fight against cybercrime. We offer support to cybercrime investigations, work to develop innovative new technologies, assist countries in exploiting digital evidence, conduct training sessions and assist countries in reviewing their cyberfighting capacities.

Regional working groups bring together senior experts from national cybercrime units to assess the latest regional trends and current threats, and formulate action plans and transnational operations.

INTERPOL Global Cybercrime Expert Group

This cross-sector group brings together experts from different cyber-related fields to provide advice on including cyberstrategy, research, training, forensics and operations.

At INTERPOL, we work to ensure that police keep pace with technological developments and have the required expertise and skills to deal with evolving digital crime at the national and international levels.

We provide a range of training courses, targeted to the needs of participants, covering topics such as emerging trends in cybercrime, investigation techniques, digital forensics and more.

Recent training events have focused on:

  • Organized criminal activity on the Darknet;
  • Digital forensic tools and techniques;
  • Malware analysis;
  • Cybercrime investigation techniques.

Training takes the form of e-learning modules, classroom-based sessions and workshops and can lead to professional certification. ‘Train-the-trainer’ courses are particularly valuable as they enable participants to pass on their new skills and knowledge to their colleagues.
