Caribbean officers participate in INTERPOL Mobile Police Training Programme

Police officers from 19 countries across the Caribbean region are taking part in the INTERPOL Mobile Police Training Programme (IMPTP) in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Organized by INTERPOL’s Police Training and Development (PTD) unit with support from INTERPOL Bridgetown and funded by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT), the three-week course (15 November – 3 December) covers a range of issues, including operational aspects of international co-operation, use of INTERPOL’s tools and services such as I-24/7 and its global databases. The course provides the attendees with soft skills as well; Effective Presentation Skills, and a few lectures from guest speakers on regional structures of both crime and police response, on regional development activities and best practices.

This is the second training course provided by PTD, the first which was held in El Salvador in September/October was attended by 15 participants from seven countries.
