No country can deal with cybercrime in isolation – INTERPOL Chief on BBC

22 January 2016

DAVOS, Switzerland – INTERPOL Secretary General Jürgen Stock has outlined how the fight against cybercrime is one of INTERPOL’s top priorities.

Speaking to BBC World TV News from the World Economic Forum in Davos, Mr Stock said cybercrime was a ‘borderless crime by nature’. He said government agencies tackling cybercriminals need to coordinate better with the private sector and share knowledge and skills.

"Getting the criminals behind bars must be an important part of any strategy," Mr Stock said. "No country can deal with this problem in isolation."
