Training Accreditation
INTERPOL initiated its training accreditation policy which applies to:
- National and international law enforcement training courses or programmes which can be accredited by INTERPOL upon request.
- INTERPOL training courses or programmes.
Aim of the accreditation
The accreditation process aims at warranting the efficient use of the resources put by INTERPOL and the Member Countries into the training initiatives and the return on investment in training.
Objectives of the accreditation
- To intensify cooperation with police training entities and promote consistency in the training policy throughout the world by reviewing Member Countries’ training courses or programmes;
- To enhance public, donors and stakeholders confidence in the integrity, professionalism and efficiency of the law enforcement training;
- To value organizations that has accredited training courses or programmes with a recognized level of training quality.
Accreditation process
The process aims at assessing the compliance of a training course or programme against INTERPOL training standards. The assessment goes through each of the systems approach to training steps: Training Needs Analysis, Programme Design, Programme Development, Programme Delivery and Programme Evaluation.
