Your rights

Any person or entity, referred to as an Applicant, have the right to submit a request to the Commission for:

  • access to data processed in INTERPOL’s files;
  • correction and/or deletion of data processed in INTERPOL’s files

The submission of a request to the Commission is free of any charge.

The Commission only supervises the processing of data in the INTERPOL Information System. It is not, therefore, empowered to lead an investigation, to weigh evidence, or to make a determination on the merits of a case. Only the competent national or regional authorities may do so. (Article 36 of INTERPOL’s Constitution).

These requests are reviewed by the Requests Chamber.
