- Keep Oman safe;
- Prevent, detect and investigate crime;
- Control borders.
At international level, Oman cooperates actively with all INTERPOL member countries in the fight and prevention of cross border crime and in the location and extradition of fugitives.
Part of the Criminal Intelligence Department, Oman’s INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) is located at the national Police headquarters. It reports directly to the Inspector General of Police and Customs.
INTERPOL Muscat facilitates communications and exchange of confidential police information between Oman law enforcement bodies and the INTERPOL community. It has a key role to play in helping the Royal Oman Police trace and extradite fugitives. The NCB provides local investigators with the information they need to facilitate their investigations and link them with criminal activities in other INTERPOL member countries. It is staffed by almost 15 men and women.
