Establecida en 1943, la Policía Federal Argentina (PFA) es la principal fuerza de seguridad de la República Argentina. Dependiente del Ministerio de Seguridad, cuenta con destacamentos en todas las provincias del país, denominadas "delegaciones", y en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, donde ejerce también las funciones de policía local.

La Policía Federal Argentina es una institución civil armada ejerciendo las funciones de policía de seguridad y judicial que derivan de las responsabilidades emergentes del poder de policía del gobierno federal central.

INTERPOL Argentina

La Oficina Central Nacional (OCN) INTERPOL Buenos Aires forma parte de la Dirección General de Coordinación Internacional, cuya misión básica se desarrolla a través de las siguientes funciones:

  • Centralización, coordinación y distribución de todas las informaciones emanadas o dirigidas a los organismos de INTERPOL y otras policías extranjeras;
  • Prevención, averiguación y represión de delitos e infracciones en el ámbito internacional, interviniendo directamente o junto a otras dependencias;

La coordinación nacional se hace efectiva a través de las oficinas de enlace de los distintos organismos, que desarrollan sus tareas con la OCN para Argentina en Buenos Aires. Así, se mantiene un contacto permanente con todos los servicios nacionales y provinciales del país:

  • Prefectura Naval Argentina
  • Policía de Seguridad Aeroportuaria
  • Dirección Nacional de Migraciones
  • Dirección General de Aduanas
  • 23 Policías Provinciales
