INTERPOL global alert issued for escaped murderer from Bolivia
LYON, France – An international security alert, or Orange Notice has been issued by INTERPOL at the request of Bolivia following the escape from prison of a convicted murderer who is considered extremely dangerous.
Jaime Cardena Pardo broke out from San Roque prison in Sucre on March 30 and immediately upon receipt of the fugitive’s details from the National Central Bureau in La Paz, the INTERPOL’s Command and Coordination Centre at the General Secretariat headquarters in Lyon, France issued the alert to all 190 member countries.
The Orange Notice, containing Cardena Pardo’s photograph, has been circulated worldwide to assist law enforcement officers identify, locate and arrest the fugitive.
A resolution underlining the need for member countries to alert the General Secretariat to prison escapes of suspected terrorists and other dangerous criminals was adopted at the INTERPOL General Assembly in 2006.
