Master painting by Leonardo da Vinci recovered in Glasgow

In a joint operation involving various agencies, British police arrested four men and recovered the Leonardo da Vinci painting entitled 'Madonna and the Yarnwinder' following a raid in Glasgow on 4 October. The painting had been stolen from Drumlanrig Castle, near Thornhill, in Scotland on 27 August 2003.
The theft of the masterpiece generated a worldwide search effort. It was included in INTERPOL’s stolen works of art database and DVD, and was featured as the number one item in the December 2003 edition of INTERPOL’s 'Most Wanted Works of Art' poster.
