Roles and Responsibilities of the Fiji Police Force

The Fiji Police provides the following law enforcement services throughout the Fiji Islands:

  • Maintenance of law and order;
  • Preservation of peace;
  • Protection of life and property;
  • Prevention, detection and investigation of crime.

INTERPOL Suva

The INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) in Suva is part of Fiji’s Intelligence Bureau which in turn is part of the Ministry of Defence, National Security, Disaster Management and Immigration. The Head of NCB answers to the Commissioner of Police through the Intelligence Bureau Director.

INTERPOL Suva is staffed by six Fiji Police Force officials who carry out operations in coordination with other FPF agencies.  The Bureau is the exclusive platform for investigations requiring contact with the international police community.
