Parties meet to discuss Red Notice dispute

Argentina’s NCB has asked INTERPOL to issue Red Notices against Iran’s former president and seven other Iranians in connection with the bombing. Iran’s NCB has argued that the charges are 'unfounded and undocumented' and that issuing Red Notices would, therefore, violate INTERPOL’s constitution and rules. 

The General Secretariat has convened a meeting of the parties as article 24 of INTERPOL’s rules for processing information specifies that such disputes between member countries’ NCBs  'should be (re)solved by concerted consultation' and, failing that, they 'may be submitted to the Executive Committee' and, if necessary, to the General Assembly.

Following INTERPOL’s established rules, this meeting is intended to assist both parties move towards resolution of the issue.
