Interpol - General Assembly 73rd Session - Cancún, 5 - 8 October 2004

The ICPO-Interpol General Assembly, meeting in Cancún from 5 to 8 October 2004 at its 73rd session:

RECALLING General Assembly Resolution AGN/66/RES/2, concerning regional conferences,

CONSIDERING the need to define the objectives, authorities, and working methods of the regional conferences in such a way as to grant them latitude to develop responses to regional problems while preserving the Organization's institutional and legal structure,

HAVING STUDIED Report AG-2004-RAP-5 submitted by the Executive Committee, and approving the terms thereof,

BEARING IN MIND the opinion expressed by the ad hoc Committee in application of Article 56 of the General Regulations,

ADOPTS the Terms of Reference for the Regional Conferences as set out in Appendix 1 of Report AG-2004-RAP-5;

STATES that the said Terms of Reference shall be considered as an appendix to the General Regulations of the Organization; and

DECIDES that the said Terms of Reference shall enter into force immediately.
