Interpol - General Assembly 73rd Session - Cancún, 5 - 8 October 2004

The ICPO-Interpol General Assembly, meeting in Cancún from 5 to 8 October 2004 at its 73rd session:

RECALLING the aims of the Organization as defined in Article 2 of its Constitution,

RECOGNIZING the need to protect intergovernmental organizations more effectively against terrorism and other serious crime,

RECOGNIZING the need to prevent terrorists or other dangerous criminals from gaining access to the intergovernmental organizations,

APPROVES the creation of the instrument entitled 'General Conditions on combating offences against intergovernmental organizations' given at Appendix 1 to Report Appendix 28;

INVITES intergovernmental organizations wishing to use the services provided by the ICPO-Interpol to notify the Organization of their acceptance of the said instrument;

EMPOWERS the Secretary General to accept all notifications of acceptance of the General Conditions made by intergovernmental organizations;

DESIGNATES the Secretary General as depositary of the acceptance agreements of the said organizations.
