Interpol - General Assembly 73rd Session - Cancún, 5 - 8 October 2004

The ICPO-Interpol General Assembly, meeting in Cancún from 5 to 8 October 2004 at its 73rd session:

BEARING IN MIND Article 26(1) of the Financial Regulations, according to which, following a proposal from the Executive Committee, the General Assembly shall appoint External Auditors to conduct an external audit of the Organization's accounts and finances,

NOTING THE CONTENTS of Report AG-2004-RAP-33, which sets out the Executive Committee's proposal to appoint the French Cour des Comptes,

CONSIDERING that the French Cour des Comptes meets the criteria for appointment of an external auditor stipulated by Article 26(1) of the Financial Regulations,

THANKS the French Cour des Comptes for its application;

DECIDES to appoint the French Cour des Comptes as External Auditor for a three-year term of office, which will end at the 76th session of the General Assembly, to be held in 2007;

ASKS the Secretary General to take all the necessary measures to formalize the appointment, in application of Article 26 of the Financial Regulations and its appendix (Supplementary terms of reference of the External Auditors).
