I. Ages for legal purposes

Age of simple majority
The legal age of majority is 17 years.
Age of consent for sexual activity
The legal age of consent for sexual activity is 16 years.
Age of consent for marriage
The legal age of consent for marriage is 18 years.
Rape is the unlawful sexual intercourse with a woman without her consent
and sexual intercourse requirues penetration only.
III.Other forms of child sex abuse

The following offences come under the criminal offences ordinance of the laws
of Gibraltar.

108(1) Intercourse with a girl between the ages of 13 years and 16 years

113(1) Incest by a woman

118 Indecent assault on a man
119 Indecent conduct towards a young child
122 Procuration of girl under 18 years
124 Permitting girl under 13 years to use premises for intercourse
125 Permitting a girl between 13 ans 16 years to use premises for intercourse
127 Causing or encouraging prostitution of, intercourse with or indecent assault
on a girl under 16 years
129 Allowing persons under 16 years to be in brothels
There is no specific law in this country for child pornography in
particular, although this would come under section 147 of the criminal offences
ordinance which deals with prohibited publications, section 154 of the criminal
offences ordinance which deals with sale of obscene matter and section 14(1)
(b) of the imports and exports ordinance which deals with prohibited imports
which includes indecent or obscene prints.
Our current legislation does not cover crimes against children using the
Internet.
