Police nationale de la Mauritanie

Force de sécurité relevant du ministère chargé de l’Intérieur et de la Décentralisation, la Police nationale de la Mauritanie est dirigée par le Directeur général de la Direction générale de la Sûreté nationale.

La Police nationale de la Mauritanie est chargée d’une mission générale de protection des intérêts fondamentaux de l’État. Elle est chargée, sur l’ensemble du territoire national, d’une mission permanente de sécurité publique, de police judiciaire, de sûreté intérieure et extérieure de l’État, de la lutte contre le terrorisme, de la recherche et de la centralisation du renseignement relevant de sa compétence, du maintien et du rétablissement de l’ordre public, de la protection des personnes et de leurs biens, de la surveillance du territoire, de l’immigration et de la lutte contre la délinquance économique et financière. Elle veille à l’exécution et au respect des lois et règlements.

INTERPOL Nouakchott

Le Bureau central national (B.C.N.) d’INTERPOL de la Mauritanie fait partie des six services composant la Direction de la Police judiciaire et de la Sécurité publique (DPJSP). Il est dirigé par un chef de service relevant du Directeur de la Police judiciaire et de la Sécurité publique.

Les priorités et objectifs sont :

  • L’élargissement de l’accès au système de communication I-24/7 et aux services INTERPOL au-delà du Bureau central national ;
  • L’accroissement de la transmission et de l’échange d’informations entre les services nationaux chargés de l’application des lois relatives à la criminalité générale ;
  • L’extradition des nationaux objets de mandats d’arrêt internationaux ;
  • La recherche des individus auteurs d’infractions relevant de la criminalité générale ;
  • Le développement des échanges d’informations entre les pays voisins sur les malfaiteurs recherchés, le terrorisme, le trafic d’armes et de drogue, et les vols de véhicules.
