International Convention for the Recovery of Stolen Vehicles

Cooperation within the European insurance industry to tackle vehicle crime led to the International Convention for the Recovery of Stolen Vehicles (ICRV) in 2006. Its ultimate goal is to speed up the repatriation process for stolen vehicles.

Signatories agree to establish an insurance contact point in their country in order to facilitate the sharing information on a European level, and to provide a link with the national police in their respective country.

The secretariat of the ICRV framework is run by the CEA, the European insurance and reinsurance federation.
